I always used to believe that Shahrukh Khan was wrong when he said you should philosophise only after you’re rich. (don’t even know if he said that for sure haha!)
I thought philosophy is for everyone. They should philosophise their lives to make a path for themselves.
But then recently a thought came to my mind about convergence of philosophies. What if my ambition conflicts with the “reality of life” I’ve understood.
That’s when I understood that it is confirmed that most people who have enormous amount of success in life aren’t really deep thinkers.
Deep thinkers get to the fundamentals of everything, including life.
And as they reach the destination, they understand it is hollow. There is nothingness. Everything that humans have built for themselves is here and will be here.
So, people who pay less attention to the deeper meaning of life and more attention to the hollow things actually end up doing well.
For any kind of success, your mind needs unhindered focus which is the result of unconflicting thoughts.
If Virat Kohli starts thinking about deeper aspects of life tomorrow, then he’ll find that it is just a sport and how would it matter in the macro sense if they lose or fail.
But the naivty to not pay attention to all that and focus on enjoying and winning the game is what has kept him going.
To chase the hollow.
So, anytime anyone comes up to you and talks about “what will you get out of it”, you say “absolutely nothing, and that is the best part”.
Of course thinking about the macro and the ultimate power is humbling, but it also makes a lot of people lose faith in the hollowness.
The social structures, the languages, the world, success metrics everything is made up. Yup, there are pleasures of escaping the rat race, but real enjoyment is being a part of everything that is going on.
If we keep thinking about all that, we won’t build anything significant.
Also, as our income rises, our philosophy changes. By a lott!
So, anyone who thinks they’ll be thinking about the world in the same way at say 50k a month vs when they make 10 lakhs a month, is really dumb.
Enough of what I was thinking this week, what’s something you learnt this week? Let’s talk
good article bro
couldn't agree more on this.
