Clear Thinking Vs Delusion
The world respects clear thinkers more. More importantly clear communicators.
But that’s not enough for winning in life and business.
I mean being clear, precise and having your objectives in mind are important, but they have a side-effect: mental constraints.
Being delusional gives you a chance of exploring things outside of your objectives.
It gives you access to a world without constraints over your own thinking.
If Elon Musk would have been a clear thinker, he would have factored in his survivorship bias before making rockets. They would have stopped him from going ahead.
Cost estimations to build a rocket don't make sense, then how did he leap away from this sad and hard reality?
How did he break away?
Actually he didn't. But he was still very delusional. Let me explain:
Elon occasionally talks about never giving in to wishful thinking.
Wishful thinking is the overdose of delusion. Elon had the perfect dosage of delusion. And he never leapt too far from reality.
What most of us don’t understand is that reality is a super set of the knowns and unknowns.
Our perceived reality confines us.
Just the right amount of delusion and you get the ticket to step into the unknown reality.
Delusion, if used just for increasing your mind’s thinking capacity, is a medicine.
It allows your mind the freedom to think big and breathe.

What's coming this week?
Been overworked for a while, but I have a few unique pieces planned.
First one is a thread on Zoho and it's genius founder Sridhar Vembu sir. Beautiful story❤️ Coming at the start of this week.
Next is the over due newsletter article on MS Dhoni's leadership style. Most people didn't look so deep into it. They would have found MBA level insights in him. Coming mid week straight into your inbox.
And the last one is a controversial thread on why you shouldn't try to make your parents proud of you.
Lot's of new content planned for this week on my reels. Quite original, fun, curiosity inducing and informative. Stay tuned!!
What am I reading?
Everything from the last week, and added an audiobook “Sprint”. Quite aware of the technique, but still had to listen to this book to learn about it properly.
You missed something this week:
I wrote an impromptu thread (more of an fan's rant) this Friday about Marvel's decline. Read it here:
